Beauty resolutions I can’t wait to make (and keep) this year
Here’s what to add to your cart, if we share the same 2025 beauty goals

The start of a new year always feels like the perfect time for a reset. While everyone is busy setting goals for fitness, productivity or cutting sugar (again), I’ve been thinking about ways to shake up my skincare routine.

2024 taught me that beauty isn’t just about looking good; it’s about feeling good in your skin, embracing the process and being open to change. So, as I step into 2025, I’m setting five beauty resolutions that I believe will elevate my routine and maybe even yours. Here’s how I plan to make it happen—actionable steps included.

1. Take my bodycare as seriously as skincare

We all spend so much energy on our faces, but what about the rest of our body? I’m guilty of neglecting my arms, legs and everything in between. This year’s a good time to give my body some love too. Think about it—our skin doesn’t stop at our jawline, so why should our care routines?

Here’s my plan:

2. Stop procrastinating and book that tweakment

Sometimes the best way to hold yourself accountable is to just book that appointment. Whether it’s lasering off those unwanted hairs, addressing pigmentation with a dermatologist or trying out hydration facials, this year I’m going to stop pretending I’ll “get to it”. Planning it in advance not only ensures it gets done, but it also gives you something to look forward to. If you’ve been meaning to get professional-grade help (for anything from acne to hair growth), now’s the time to research and book it.

3. Actually wear sunscreen every day

This year, make sunscreen your #1 skincare non-negotiable. Rain or shine, indoors or outdoors, wearing SPF daily is the most effective way to protect your skin from UV damage, prevent premature ageing and minimise the risk of skin cancer. Invest in a lightweight, broad-spectrum sunscreen that suits your skin type—whether it’s a gel-based formula for oily skin or a hydrating option for dry skin. And if sunscreen often feels like a hassle, think about hybrid products like moisturisers or foundations with SPF.

Here’s my plan for being more diligent about sunscreen:

  • Keep sunscreen front and centre. I keep my sunscreen next to my moisturiser, so I never forget to apply it. Treat it as an essential, just like brushing your teeth.
  • The morning rush and packed schedule can lead me to forget to apply. I’ve now left a post-it on my mirror with a reminder that reads, “don’t forget your SPF!”. A small nudge can go a long way in building the habit.

4. Try something new, makeup-wise

I’m a creature of habit. My trusty brown eyeliner and nude lipstick have been my go-to for years. But this year, I’m vowing to shake things up—hello, gold eyeshadow and berry-toned lips. If you’re the same, here are some actionable steps you can try.

  • Dedicate 15 minutes a week to “playtime” with your makeup stash. Try a trend, like graphic liner or a glossy lid, without worrying about perfection.
  • Book a makeup class or follow a YouTube tutorial. Sometimes all it takes is seeing someone else rock a bold look to inspire your own.

5.  Stay consistent with what sticks

In 2025, I’m committing to consistency when it comes to self-care—sticking with the tried-and-true staples that have always worked for me. While it’s fun to try new things when they’re trending, there’s something deeply satisfying about staying loyal to the OGs: supplements that keep my body balanced, face masks that have stood the test of time and my trusty LED mask that delivers results every time.
